What's it really like living in Brooklyn?

Hey folks, I'm a remote worker and Homes are going for about $153,000 on average. Median household income is $69,535, which feels about average for the area. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Is this normal for Brooklyn? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 11 years ago. The main reasons were family and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is average.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
