Best things about Brooklyn Park that nobody talks about

As a 4-year resident, here are some things about Brooklyn Park that don't make it into the guides:

1. The local music scene is really vibrant
2. Several hidden gem restaurants that rival big city food
3. The local craft beer scene is legit

Happy to answer questions.

Don't sleep on Pine Grove. It's up and coming and still affordable.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Lakewood and Downtown are perfectly safe.

The food scene here is seriously underrated. So many great restaurants.

Check out the Downtown area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

I'd add that the school system has been improving steadily. Otherwise spot on!

Totally agree with this. I've been here 9 years and my experience is very similar.

Great post! One thing I'd mention is check out the local Facebook groups for neighborhood info. Makes a big difference.

Rent tip: look for places in winter. Prices drop and there's more availability.

I've lived in University District for 12 years and it's decent, has its pros and cons.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Oakwood. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.
