Hey folks, I'm a teacher here and Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. Homes are going for about $631,600 on average. It's a a smaller city city with about 75,110 people. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Raleigh about 15 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Active local events and festivals
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Urban sprawl is real
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are reasonable, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if safety matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
