Hey folks, I'm a 52-year-old software engineer and With a population of 30,310, Brownsburg is a smaller city. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Worth the trade-offs? The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Four distinct seasons
- The community vibe scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a contractor who relocated here from New York about 11 years ago. The main reasons were school and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are growing, gas is better than expected.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

**Quality of Life:**
it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Cedar Grove schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Homeless population growing downtown. And school system can be frustrating.
