How is Brownsburg for outdoor activities?

Been meaning to ask this. With a population of 30,310, Brownsburg is a smaller city. Rent is about $1,405/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 1.1%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Brownsburg sits at 148.1 per 100K. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Has anyone dealt with this? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I've lived in West for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening
- The cost of living scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 13 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The dating scene is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.
