Alright, Been living here since 2017. Household incomes average around $38,460 in Brownsville. Average temperature is around 77--F, so it's warm year-round. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 9 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into running, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Fairview for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals
- The food scene scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. Feel free to reach out with questions..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is average in most areas.

The food scene here is solid. Tons of great Vietnamese places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Came here for work and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The walkability is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
