Moving to Brownsville with kids -good idea?

Curious what people think. Been living here since 2014. Poverty rate is 23.0%, which is higher than I expected. Average temperature is around 77--F, so it's warm year-round. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.
