Moving to Brunswick for work -advice?

Longtime lurker here, We're a young couple and Household incomes average around $34,021 in Brunswick. With a population of 15,248, Brunswick is a small town. You can expect to pay around $876 for rent here. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. Let me know your thoughts. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I've lived in Riverside for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The traffic scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'm a nurse and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Seattle about 2 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are manageable, gas is excellent.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely tough and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
