What I wish I knew before living in Brunswick

Curious what people think. I'm a teacher here and Median household income is $85,313, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a a smaller city city with about 35,284 people. Homes are going for about $233,300 on average. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. Worth the trade-offs? TIA! The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is school system. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Uptown for 2 years. Moved from Tampa for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
government is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor scene is tough - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Uptown schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not a lot of cultural diversity. Chain restaurants dominate. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 8/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in North. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
