My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Bought a house here in 2024 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone about the same since then.

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The traffic is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Tampa it's tough.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Westside. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in tech. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Indian.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value traffic, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely pretty good and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
