Grocery stores in Bryan -recommendations?

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely solid and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The cultural scene is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Midtown for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights
- The walkability scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a real estate agent, 48, moved here 13 years ago from San Diego. I've lived in Fairview and Oak Park, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Property taxes are high
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The healthcare situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Fairview: Great for remote workers. challenging vibes, walkable.
- Oak Park: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Diego, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $90K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
