Weekend activities in Bryan?

Hey folks, Average temperature is around 71--F, so it's warm year-round. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What do you all think? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I'm a accountant and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is solid and there's always something going on.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Boston about 11 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong job market in several industries

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is tough.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've lived in Lakewood for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- The dating scene scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
