Longtime lurker here, With a population of 86,169, Bryan is a smaller city. The suburbs are where most families end up. What neighborhoods would you suggest? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Seattle about 1 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Nightlife is limited
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is solid.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a marketing manager, 40, moved here 2 years ago from Atlanta. I've lived in Riverside and Eastside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The outdoor recreation situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Riverside: Great for couples. improving vibes, walkable.
- Eastside: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Atlanta, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $60K-$150K here.
**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in Sunset for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good internet infrastructure
- The job market scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Limited shopping options
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Used to live on the Oak Park side, now on the South side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value housing market, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely average and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Downtown) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for weather and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The dating scene is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
