Not sure if this has been asked before, but Born and raised here. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. Median household income is $169,591, which feels pretty solid for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Buckhall sits at 328.3 per 100K. Rent is about $2,591/month for a decent place. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. What are your go-to spots? Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.
I've been here 9 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is surprisingly good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

Came here for work and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The school system is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from New York about 1 years ago. The main reasons were work and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Limited entertainment options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is better than expected.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Definitely worth checking out..
