Longtime lurker here, The median home value here is around $411,000, which is pretty steep. With a population of 4,637, Buckingham is a small town. Homes are going for about $411,000 on average. Rent is about $1,799/month for a decent place. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Is this normal for Buckingham? Thanks! There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

The food scene here is improving. Tons of great craft beer places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in The Heights. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
