Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm single, late 20s, and The unemployment rate is 3.6%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Has anyone dealt with this? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. the quality of life is solid. Internet is challenging in most areas.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is traffic. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in North for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options
- The cultural scene scene is solid
The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Moved here from Salt Lake City about 6 years ago. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Still getting used to dating scene but Definitely worth checking out..

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Close to major attractions
- The housing market scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Limited entertainment options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Used to live on the Sunset side, now on the Downtown side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 13 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
