Worth the trade-offs? Cheers. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in North. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in government. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Asian.
Hope this helps!.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want food scene, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Used to live on the Old Town side, now on the Westside side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The dating scene is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..
