Crime rate is something to consider -Buena Park sits at 297.7 per 100K. Median household income is $108,187, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a a smaller city city with about 83,052 people. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. Thoughts? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Feel free to reach out with questions..

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is housing market. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Fairview for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
- The job market scene is decent
The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'm a software engineer and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is improving and there's always something going on.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Midtown. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Italian.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

Bought a house here in 2023 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Meadowbrook. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in real estate. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like sushi.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The nightlife is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a electrician who relocated here from Charlotte about 12 years ago. The main reasons were family and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Urban sprawl is real
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are wild, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 11 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..
