Hey folks, We have two kids and Rent is about $875/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $51,800, which is actually reasonable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Would love some local perspective.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it was the best decision I ever made. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 14 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Bought a house here in 2017 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone about the same since then.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The healthcare scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong sense of community
- The public transit scene is tough
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Summers can be brutally hot
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a real estate agent, 33, moved here 7 years ago from Nashville. I've lived in North and Eastside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Growing food and restaurant scene
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Nightlife is limited
3. The dating scene situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- North: Great for retirees. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- Eastside: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Nashville, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $40K-$150K here.
**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is nightlife. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..
