Is Buenaventura Lakes worth moving to in 2026?

I've been here for 7 years and Poverty rate is 10.6%, which is around average. Crime rate is something to consider -Buenaventura Lakes sits at 667.9 per 100K. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What would you do? Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Bought a house here in 2021 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The school system is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in South. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in education. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The cost of living is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..
