Is Buffalo Grove getting better or worse?

We're a young couple and Crime rate is something to consider -Buffalo Grove sits at 27.0 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $2,042 for rent here. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What are your go-to spots? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Atlanta about 8 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Four distinct seasons
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are reasonable, gas is decent.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Sunset for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- The school system scene is improving

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.
