Most overrated things about Buffalo Grove

OK so Been living here since 2013. Rent is about $2,042/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $2,042 for rent here. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Any help is appreciated.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Portland about 7 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Bugs and humidity in summer
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are reasonable, gas is decent.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I work in marketing here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is decent. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The dating scene is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..
