Curious what people think. You can expect to pay around $647 for rent here. Homes are going for about $131,300 on average. The median home value here is around $131,300, which is actually reasonable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Am I wrong here? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Nashville it's excellent.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely challenging and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Highland) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
