OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Pine Hills. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in education. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Came here for school and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The healthcare is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in North. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in engineering. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Bought a house here in 2017 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is dating scene. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 13 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.
