Best things about Buffalo that nobody talks about

As a 3-year resident, here are some things about Buffalo that don't make it into the guides:

1. There are amazing hiking trails 20 min from downtown
2. The library system is phenomenal
3. The local craft beer scene is legit

Happy to answer questions.

I'd add that the parks here are amazing for families. Otherwise spot on!

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Riverside. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

If you can afford it, Southside is the best place to live. Period.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.

Totally agree with this. I've been here 4 years and my experience is very similar.

Rent tip: look for places in October-November. Prices drop and there's more availability.

I've lived in Highland Park for 2 years and it's still one of the best decisions I made.

Weather is the biggest factor for us. Four seasons are nice, not too extreme either way.

Respectfully disagree about the job market. In my experience, it's been pretty safe in my area.
