Buffalo quality of life — am I missing something?

Hey folks, Rent is about $989/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 51°F, so expect cold winters. You can expect to pay around $989 for rent here. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Would love some local perspective. Thanks for reading. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I've lived in Lakewood for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
- The cost of living scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Limited entertainment options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Definitely worth checking out..
