The good and bad of living in Buies Creek

Been meaning to ask this. We have two kids and Average temperature is around 60--F, so the weather is moderate. The unemployment rate is 0.7%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. Anyone in a similar situation? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions
- The healthcare scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. No regrets on my end..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a HR manager, 54, moved here 2 years ago from Phoenix. I've lived in Oak Park and Eastside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Great outdoor activities nearby
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Rising rent and home prices
3. The cost of living situation is competitive and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Oak Park: Great for young professionals. improving vibes, walkable.
- Eastside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Phoenix, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $40K-$130K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.
