Biggest downsides of living in Bull Run CDP (Prince William County)?
Anyone else feel this way? I'm originally from Raleigh and The median home value here is around $378,800, which seems about average. Crime rate is something to consider -Bull Run CDP (Prince William County) sits at 328.3 per 100K. The weather takes some getting used to. Has anyone dealt with this? The suburbs are where most families end up.

Came here for school and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The nightlife is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a physical therapist, 27, moved here 10 years ago from Chicago. I've lived in Lakewood and Fairview, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Nightlife is limited
3. The dating scene situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Lakewood: Great for families. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- Fairview: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Chicago, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $50K-$130K here.
**Final verdict:**

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in North. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in legal. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
No regrets on my end..
