Hi all, I work in manufacturing and The unemployment rate is 5.7%, which is about average. It's a a small town city with about 1,687 people. You can expect to pay around $670 for rent here. Household incomes average around $46,848 in Bull Shoals. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Anyone in a similar situation? TIA! Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'm a project manager and I've found I love the pace of life here. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Midtown area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great Vietnamese places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

I've lived in West for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good airport with direct flights
- The traffic scene is decent
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
