Hey everyone, The median home value here is around $615,400, which is pretty steep. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 1 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is underrated.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Riverside. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. the quality of life is solid. Internet is decent in most areas.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a marketing manager, 43, moved here 10 years ago from Nashville. I've lived in North and Westside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Limited high-paying job options
3. The nightlife situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- North: Great for families. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Westside: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Nashville, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$70K here.
**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value traffic, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely average and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
