Hello, It's a a smaller city city with about 43,336 people. Household incomes average around $179,063 in Burke. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Worth the trade-offs? The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in East. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in government. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've lived in Midtown for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- The traffic scene is tough
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Midtown for 5 years. Moved from Baltimore for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.
**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. legal is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Midtown schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Bugs and humidity in summer. And cultural scene can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 8/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
