Burleson in the winter -how bad?

Curious what people think. I grew up here but left for a while. Crime rate is something to consider -Burleson sits at 231.8 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,665 for rent here. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely better than expected and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Springfield) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Chicago about 5 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is improving.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
