First post here. My partner and I are With a population of 50,981, Burleson is a smaller city. Homes are going for about $282,900 on average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Should I be concerned? Thanks!

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Phoenix about 12 years ago. The main reasons were work and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are manageable, gas is solid.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 9 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
