Moving to Burley with kids -good idea?

Been meaning to ask this. I've been here for 9 years and With a population of 11,721, Burley is a small town. Poverty rate is 10.1%, which is around average. The city has invested a lot in new development. Worth the trade-offs? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Four distinct seasons
- The community vibe scene is solid

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.
