You can expect to pay around $2,050 for rent here. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Worth the trade-offs? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in North for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- The cultural scene scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Hope this helps!.

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor recreation is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..
