Anyone else feel this way? I relocated for work and Poverty rate is 3.8%, which is pretty low. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Is this normal for Burlingame? The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great Asian places. it's exactly what I was looking for.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Greenfield area are tough. Kids love it here.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value weather, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely better than expected and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Limited entertainment options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if housing market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I work in consulting here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is average. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 13 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
