Grocery stores in Burlington -recommendations?

First post here. Born and raised here. Poverty rate is 15.4%, which is higher than I expected. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What do you all think? The weather takes some getting used to.

I've been living here for 9 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The healthcare is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 14 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Downtown for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals
- The cost of living scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Limited shopping options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is decent in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Uptown. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in government. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like seafood.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a electrician, 32, moved here 10 years ago from Salt Lake City. I've lived in Riverside and Eastside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The cultural scene situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Riverside: Great for remote workers. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Eastside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Salt Lake City, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $70K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Maple Ridge. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
