I'm single, late 50s, and Poverty rate is 15.4%, which is higher than I expected. Average temperature is around 60--F, so the weather is moderate. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Thanks for reading.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Meadowbrook. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in marketing. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Asian.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Seattle it's pretty good.
