Most overrated things about Burlington

I'm a teacher here and Crime rate is something to consider -Burlington sits at 850.2 per 100K. Median household income is $54,941, which feels on the lower side for the area. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Miami it's underrated.

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much growing but now it's hit or miss.

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The cost of living is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

Used to live on the Springfield side, now on the Eastside side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely decent and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Highland) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely better than expected and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Riverside) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Bought a house here in 2017 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if housing market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
