What I wish I knew before living in Burlington

Hey folks, You can expect to pay around $1,598 for rent here. With a population of 9,904, Burlington is a small town. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Sunset area are underrated. Kids love it here.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely pretty good and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Sunset) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
