First time home buyer in Burlington
Been living here since 2010. Crime rate is something to consider -Burlington sits at 206.1 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 9,637 people. Poverty rate is 6.5%, which is pretty low. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Worth the trade-offs? The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
