Worst things about Burnet nobody talks about

Hello, There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cultural scene used to be much competitive but now it's surprisingly good.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value weather, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely decent and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (South) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely better than expected and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Fairview) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Fairview) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Strong sense of community
- The outdoor recreation scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.
