Working remotely from Burnsville

Hey everyone, I'm a remote worker and Median household income is $83,953, which feels pretty solid for the area. Household incomes average around $83,953 in Burnsville. Average temperature is around 46--F, so expect cold winters. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What would you do? Thanks! It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 1 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is dating scene. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a physical therapist, 40, moved here 3 years ago from Atlanta. I've lived in Greenfield and Oak Park, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Good schools in most areas
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The healthcare situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Greenfield: Great for couples. improving vibes, walkable.
- Oak Park: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Atlanta, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $80K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Greenfield. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Definitely worth checking out..
