Considering Burton vs Boston -help me decide

Hey, I'm single, late 40s, and It's a a smaller city city with about 29,529 people. Homes are going for about $131,200 on average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What neighborhoods would you suggest? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much competitive but now it's underrated.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely hit or miss and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
