Weekend activities in Butler?

Anyone else feel this way? I grew up here but left for a while. The median home value here is around $86,200, which is actually reasonable. Average temperature is around 64--F, so the weather is moderate. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Anyone in a similar situation?

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 15 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in The Heights. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The walkability is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Greenfield. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
