Butte-Silver Bow quality of life -am I missing something?
Longtime lurker here, Crime rate is something to consider -Butte-Silver Bow sits at 454.0 per 100K. The suburbs are where most families end up. Any advice would be great.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely improving and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Eastside) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is pretty good in most areas.

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cultural scene. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much manageable but now it's average.

I work in retail here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is pretty good. No regrets on my end..

Used to live on the Riverside side, now on the Midtown side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.
