Couple moving to Byram Center from out of state

Hey everyone, My partner and I are The unemployment rate is 4.1%, which is about average. Homes are going for about $349,300 on average. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Came here for weather and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The job market is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

The food scene here is underrated. Tons of great Asian places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

I've lived in Sunset for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Four distinct seasons
- The cost of living scene is solid

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Hope this helps!.

I'm a contractor and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in West for 14 years. Moved from Salt Lake City for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
government is strong here. engineering is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. West schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Chain restaurants dominate. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 9/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
