Quick question about Byram

Random thought, We have two kids and Poverty rate is 7.2%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $177,200 on average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Should I be concerned? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if public transit matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely tough and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
