Average temperature is around 76--F, so it's warm year-round. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 8 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Cedar Grove for 12 years. Moved from Houston for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.
**Employment:**
retail is strong here. construction is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Cedar Grove schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Limited public transit options. And public transit can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 9/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've been here 14 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is better than expected.

The food scene here is underrated. Tons of great Vietnamese places. I have mixed feelings honestly.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Greenfield. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in marketing. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Italian.
Hope this helps!.

I'm a writer and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is excellent and there's always something going on.
