Commute times in Cabot -how bad?

Hey folks, My partner and I are Rent is about $974/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $197,000, which is actually reasonable. Crime rate is something to consider -Cabot sits at 372.1 per 100K. It's a a smaller city city with about 26,733 people. Household incomes average around $72,656 in Cabot. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What would you do? TIA! The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Chicago about 3 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Diverse dining options
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've been living here for 7 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The public transit is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Phoenix it's solid.
